How To Bad Breath

Written By: admin - Oct• 27•12

Just how important breathing is during meditation? Very. One of the main advantages of proper breathing is getting your entire body and mind fully relaxed. Otherwise, it will be difficult for you to keep a clear mind. You will immediately be bothered by the noises around you or even the worries and uncertainties clouding your mind.

Proper breathing during meditation, interestingly, requires a lot of practice. It’s not simple as keeping the air in and out of the body. It also needs awareness to what you’re doing. This is how you bring yourself to the present moment and place all causes of your anxieties to the past or the future.

Tips

1. Wear something comfortable. When you want to practice meditation, make sure you’re comfortable with everything, even with the clothes that you wear. These little details have the ability to distract you from what you’re doing. If you’re a beginner, this is going to be such a huge hurdle.

2. Find a quiet spot. It doesn’t matter if it’s in your home, office, or any public place. Meditation can happen anywhere, as long as it’s tranquil or peaceful. The calmness of the surroundings can speed up the attainment of peace inside your mind. You may also want to pick the best time to meditate. Again, the key here is silence.

3. Cross your legs and sit up straight. It’s essential that you are in a correct sitting position. The back should not be slouching but aligned or straight. You can feel your spine for that. By doing so, you prevent any obstruction of air that flows in and out your body during breathing.

4. Start to breathe in and out. There’s no definite number of times when you should breathe in and out during meditation. This process should be as natural as possible. You can breathe through your mouth, but you’re encouraged to do so through your nostrils. You can also keep your eyes closed. This way, you can greatly reduce the chances of getting distracted. This will also allow you to give your full concentration to your breathe.

When breathing, do so deeply and slowly. Again, you don’t have to count but to simply be very aware of the air movement from and to your body. You will notice that breathing creates some vibrations, which will then be the main focus of your meditation.

You may also want to feel the movements of the diaphragm and the lungs.

5. Listen to some subliminal messages. Since your mind is in its relaxed state during meditation, this becomes the best method to put in subliminal messages into your subconscious. These messages are often used to modify certain negative perceptions about your personal issues and about your life, thereby allowing you to overcome certain challenges. The subliminal messages are usually given in the form of affirmations.

You can prepare the subliminal messages before meditation. You may also use the prepared ones, transforming them into mp3s, so you can just listen to them while you’re meditating.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
How to not let the bad breath interfere in our kissing?
Do you know any person who never emits bad breath? I mean, it is very difficult to keep your breath always fresh. But how can we make sure that our kissing needs are not disturbed due to bad breath. I know, oral hygiene is most important, but can you give me some tips how we can keep our breath fresh most of the time.

    • ANSWER:
      Kissing is nice...

Oral hygiene is sometimes underrated. Tongue scrapers, flossing and thorough brushing will remove residues of food which gather bacteria (which smell). Mouth wash and sprays are just a temporary solution.

Personally I smoke, i drink coffee and my breath is sort of a devils spawn sometimes. I take a "fishermans friend" before kissing. Try it.

  2. QUESTION:
How to prevent the bad breath from acid reflux and keep breath fresh all day and night?
There is no medicine can keep breath fresh. I was trying to find the solution how to keep breath fresh all day and night. I notice the acid reflux causes bad breath. How to prevent this and keep breath fresh all day and night?

    Coolguy

    • ANSWER:
I am not sure that there is necessarily any "cure" for this. I would say however that drinking a lot of water would at least greatly diminish it.

  3. QUESTION:
How do I get rid of really bad breath?
My breath is really bad almost all the time.

I brush my teeth regularly and I also brush my tounge and I floss. I can't seem to get rid of really bad breath though.

And don't say chew gum or eat mints, cause that just temporarily masks the breath. I need something that will get rid of bad breath!
Oh yea, I did forget to mention it, but I do use mouthwash!

    • ANSWER:
Use pure hydrogen peroxide in the brown bottle that you can get at most stores. It's usually by the rubbing alcohol. It should say on there that it's for oral debriding and cuts (NOT the kind you bleach hair with). Use a capful or two as a mouth rinse either before or after brushing (or both). You should notice a difference right away. Also, using pure Arm & Hammer baking soda (NOT baking powder) on your toothbrush works too. Just dip your brush in some and cover the bristles and brush. It tastes awful, but will sweeten your breath. Some days I use both perioxide and baking soda. Also using a baking soda and peroxide toothpaste helps too. I'm not a dentist, I just know by experience.

  4. QUESTION:
Is it possible to get bad breath after chewing gum for a long time?
Gum is meant to freshen your breath, but is it possible to get bad breath when it loses flavour or when the mint taste starts fading? Or does you breath become 'neutral' (lol don't know how else to describe it) like it doesn't smell at all? Is that even possible, for someone's breath not to smell at all?

    • ANSWER:
The mint is gone, but the sugar lingers, as do those nasty bacteria who feed on sugar (and your teeth!). Chew sugarfree gum or rinse your mouth out with some water to wash it away.

  5. QUESTION:
How to get rid of bad breath in the morning?
I brush my teeth once at night with a mouth wash and once in the morning after I get out of bed. Every other nights, I use water pik substituting for floss, but I use mouth wash every night and use the tongue cleaner every night as well. How can I get rid of bad breath? Any tips? Please explain.

    • ANSWER:
You will never totally eliminate bad breath, especially in the morning. Your mouth is not eating or talking...therefore, bacteria lies dormant inside during the night. This is what causes bad breath. It doesn't matter that you brush, floss, mouth wash prior to bed. Bacteria will still lie dormant in an unused salivated cave. Time to accept it and deal with it.

  6. QUESTION:
How can someone avoid bad breath in the morning?
Even after brushing your teeth thoroughly, not smoke, no drinking, is there anyway of avoiding bad breath and dry mouth first thing in the morning? Mouth wash is meant to make it worse as it dries out your mouth and causes the bad smells right? So what's the solution?
Problem is just mornings. Fine throughout day. Brush my tongue and everything.
I floss like mad and spend 5mins brushing my teeth AND tongue everynight.

    • ANSWER:
Mouthwash doesn't cause bad smells. If you rinse with mouthwash before you sleep at night it should deter some of your bad breath. When you brush your teeth you should also brush your tongue as well. If these things do not work for you, your problem is probably your diet.

  7. QUESTION:
How to get rid of really bad breath?
Over the past few days my husband has had really bad breath and it was really bad especially over the weekend. I could smell it from his breath and when he breathed through his nose. He tried rinsing his mouth with mouthwash and of course he brushed his teeth several times. He also tried lemon water and his breath still smelled funky. What would cause really bad breath and what can he do to get rid of the bad breath?

    • ANSWER:
Maybe it's his sinuses and post-nasal drip causing the bad odor. Maybe a sinus decongestant can make a difference.

  8. QUESTION:
How can you let someone know they have bad breath without hurting their feelings?
Without hurting someone's feelings or being too direct, how can you let someone know that they have bad breath?

My teacher has bad breath and so does the girl next to me.

I have thought of offering them mints, but even that may be a bit direct.
    Any suggestions?

    • ANSWER:
Oh man...bad breath drives me crazy!! I dated someone who always chewed gum or mints...and after a while stopped. He had bad breath 80% of the time. I finally told him...I can't remember how the conversation came up...and he didn't believe it. So now he still had bad breath and I got teased for mentioning it. No help.

So though you can't fix the problem of their bad breath, at least you can fix the problem for you having to smell it. I would definitely pop a mint in your mouth (breathe out of your mouth to help camouflage their bad smell) and offer them one constantly. People tend to catch the hint or at least joke about having bad breath when offered gum/mints alot. Plus, when your teacher leans in to talk to you, lean back a little, just slightly so he/she can catch a hint.

      Hope this helps!

  9. QUESTION:
How do I deal with bad breath after I got my wisdom teeth pulled?
I got my wisdom teeth removed Thursday. It is now Tuesday, the pain has gone away for the most part but now I am dealing with bad breath. I had all 4 taken out, the top two were out of the gums, so I have holes where I get food stuck but its a lot easier to clean cause I can reach it with my tongue and a q-tip.

However, my bottom ones had to be cut into, I can barely even see the hole. If I spread my cheeks wide enough, I can see some red where I believe the incision was made.

How do I deal with this bad breath? How do I clean my holes? Will I have to worry about this until the holes fill up?

Also, I noticed that all the stitches dissolved Monday night, which is 4 days after the operation. Is this normal?
It is very hard to clean the bottom holes especially since I barely can even see the holes, I can't really get my tooth brush back there and I don't know if food is stuck there.

    • ANSWER:
To deal with your holes, gargle with warm salt water. You want to make sure that your holes are clean until they fill in, if not, it may cause an infection. As for the bad breath, scrub the hell out of your tongue, and just make sure those sockets are clean. Stitches dissolving, is normal. A lot of the times its easier on the patient and the doc if the stitches dissolve. Its normal, there are two kinds of stitches (sutures) that i am aware of, the silk, and the gutta. one dissolves and one has to be cut and removed. You'll be ok, just keep the sockets clean! Get well!

  10. QUESTION:
How far back on your tounge do I brush to help eliminate bad breath?
So I have bad breath and I'm trying to work on it. I brush twice a day and use mouthwash twice a day and I still have very bad breath!!!! Help? I know brushing your tounge can help and I think I need to brush farther back, but I can't because anymore and I'll touch my uvula. Is that too far back? Can anyone help with bad breath in general?

    • ANSWER:
I would also check with your dentist to see if your gums have any infection going on. The bacteria that cause that disease smell very bad. If you have tartar under the gums that you can't see, you can brush all day long, floss tongue scrape, swish w listerine and that smell will not go away! You have to have that tartar physically removed by a professional. Also, if you have a tooth that is decayed, that can smell bad. Huge tonsils with pits can also create a sulfuric smell. The best toothpaste and rinse I have found for breath is Crest Pro Health. Breath RX also has an amazing tongue scraper and it can be washed in the dishwasher.

Also, sweet-smelling fruity acetone breath could be a sign of diabetes.

  11. QUESTION:
How can i get rid of bad breath?
I brush my teeth and i floss after i eat and i definitely dont have any rotton teeth. Yet i still think i have bad breath. My mom says that eating lots of fruit and veggies can also help eliminate bad breath, and to gargle with peroxide. Any other tips??

    • ANSWER:
Get a tongue scaper! THAT is where the smelly germs like to reside! All those people who suggest mouth rinses have never been on the receiving side of someone's affection who nearly DRANK that crap to fight off the nasty breath due to a condition that forced this person to be a mouth-breather!

The smell of Listerine, for example, is not too much more appealing than the stank it is meant to treat! *laughter*

Keep flossing, however. THAT is the BEST thing that you can do to maintain periodontal health.

  12. QUESTION:

  15. QUESTION:
Is it normal to have bad breath while sleep deprived?
Okay, so everyone knows that morning breath is normal but how about when you get very little to no sleep? Sometimes when I stay up 18+ hours, I can tell I have bad breath. Or if I stay up for a long time, then only get 1 hour of sleep before I have to get up for work/school. All day long I'll have bad breath. It seems the only way to get rid of it is to get the full 6-8 hours of rest. Is that normal?

    • ANSWER:
Mouth bacteria builds up over time and when you're sleep-deprived, you also tend to use up body fluids. Not drinking water at regular intervals leads to dry mouth, which in turn causes bad breath. So the short answer is - yes, sleep deprivation indirectly causes bad breath, specially when you don't drink water during your sleep deprivation period. Your body needs sleep as much as it needs regular intake of water. Hope this helps.

How does a Muslim person who is fasting combat bad breath during the month of Ramadan?
I brush my teeth, use mouthwash and floss every morning before sunrise (when fasting starts) but half way through the day my breath starts to smell really bad. How can I combat that?

    • ANSWER:
You can brush your teeth just before beginning of fasting, and the smell of that is most loved by Allah SWT more than any other smell. Do some research inshAllah.

You are not allowed to taste things, so you can use baking soda, if you so desire but again Allah Alim and most merciful.
Keeping your gapper shut helps too, don't eat so much spices and garlic and or onions.

I always wonder why they eat so much garlic in this time when its the root cause of much bad breath. Brushing your teeth through the nighttime also helps 2 or 3 times before fasting.

  27. QUESTION:
How do I distinguish between normal cat bad breath, and need-to-see-a-vet bad breath?
We have a cat with bad breath, but -- well, our cat's breath smells like cat food, really.

She eats good quality food and some dental/breath treats, but -- still not great. I haven't had cats for very long, so figuring out how bad is bad for a cat, if that follows, isn't easy. Would there be a sort of decaying odour if there were dental problems involved?

She is not the sort of docile thing who'll easily submit to a tooth brushing, too...
She just yawned on me. 'Garbage' is the best description I can think of for the smell. Poor kitty...

    • ANSWER:
The only breath that you should be able to smell is the food that was just eaten. Bad breath can be from poor gums or tooth decay just like in people. It could also mean a disorder in her digestion. Do you brush your cats teeth? You should. Take the cat to the vet and have her teeth looked over and see if they find a reason for the bad breath. The cats we use to have didn't mind having their teeth brushed at all.

  28. QUESTION:
How can you actually tell if you have bad breath?
I'm not saying I'm worried I have, but I've never kissed a boy and now I'm paranoid it's because I have bad breath, LOL!

How would you know if you had bad breath? How could you tell?
And if you did, what would be ways to prevent bad breath?

    • ANSWER:
It sounds weird, but hear me out...wipe the top of your tongue pretty hard with a white washcloth, towel, or t-shirt. If it turns yellow at all, there there is bacteria living on your tongue that causes bad breath. If it is yellow, just be sure to brush your tongue well whenever you brush your teeth. If the top of your tongue appears white at all, that is also a sign.

Also, be sure to brush and FLOSS. Smelly germs and plaque get in between teeth as much as it gets anywhere else. If you brush but don't floss, those germs stay there and can still cause bad breath.

So basically brush, floss, and clean the top of your tongue.

  29. QUESTION:
Why do people with braces have bad breath and how do you prevent it?
I have always noticed people with traditional braces have SUPER bad breath! I am getting braces put on in two weeks and don't want this to happen to me! Why do people with braces seem to naturally have bad breath and how do you 'cure' it?

    • ANSWER:
They don't "naturally" have bad breath. The smell is coming from food which has not been properly cleaned from their braces after they ate. If you brush your teeth after every meal and make sure that there are no food particles left in your mouth, your breath won't smell. You can also get some breath drops, breath spray, or those dissolving breath strips IN ADDITION TO BRUSHING to give you fresher breath. Here is an article that explains how to brush and floss your teeth in braces: http://www.dentakit.com/howtoclyotei.html

  30. QUESTION:
How do you get rid of really bad breath?
I have really bad breath and I don't know how to get rid of it. I've tried gargling salt water, a tongue scrubber, mouthwash, mint gum, mint sprays, but it's still there.

    • ANSWER:
If it bad teeth or a gum problem you might need a dentist.

How do you tactfully tell someone that they have bad breath?
I just started dating a guy and he is very well groomed, but he has bad breath. I really like him, but feel this situation needs to be dealt with. I don't want to hurt his feelings or make him feel bad, but how DO you tell someone that they have bad breath. I really think it is a dental problem, because when I've had a mint, he will take one too and it doesn't seem to help his breath. Please help!!!

    • ANSWER:
Tell him, but don't make it a big sensitive discussion - that will increase the chance it will be a big awkward moment. Make it a matter of fact, almost offhand remark - but accurate.

Timing, timing... not at the beginning of a date, he'll be stuck with little chance to do anything effective - awkward the whole evening. Not at the end, after kissing - too directly embarrassing. Maybe on some afternoon get together? Even consider a text, "You know, I've been meaning to mention...".

      Good luck.

  34. QUESTION:
How many times a day should a person brush to combat intense bad breath?
Like bad breath that makes people move away about 2.5 ft?

    • ANSWER:
I think brushing AND FLOSSING once when getting up in the morning, once before bedtime and once after every meal, especially after the main meal (dinner) should be more than sufficient to assure your dental and gum health.

However, bad breath is not always caused by poor dental care but may have deeper causes rooted in your gastrointestinal system (stomach and intestines.) So, in addition to seeing a dentist to evaluate your dental health, you should also consult your physician about your bad breath.

  41. QUESTION:
What Causes Bad Breath and How to Avoid it?
What are the main causes of bad breath and how should I avoid it?

    • ANSWER:
Bad breath will murder your social life, so it’s reasonable for you to want to figure out what may be causing it. Some causes, such as spicy foods, are easy to solve, but others may also indicate something serious.

Macleans Confidence Fresh Breath Antibacterial Mouth Spray How do I know if I have got bad breath? Well, people can maintain a distance from you, but may be too polite to tell you the real reason.

If you’re lucky, someone will just be direct and just tell you, but failing that, you can lick your wrist and smell your saliva – if it stinks, your breath probably will too.

So lets look at 5 of the main causes of bad breath.

      1. Smoking

Are you a smoker? Smoking, in addition to many other obvious ways in which it is bad for you, makes your breath smell of stale smoke. It also irritates gums and can increase your risk of gum disease, which can also be a cause of bad breath.

      Solution? Quitting smoking.

      2. Food

Next is the food. If you like raw onions and garlic, simply choose between this particular passion and decent breath. Alcohol and coffee also affect your breath, but fortunately you can get rid of your bad breath by limiting their consumption.

Solution? Watch what you eat and drink.

Note that if you eat infrequently, or diet this can also cause bad breath. This is also the case if you are not eating enough carbohydrates.

      3. Hygeine

Of course, if you’re casual about keeping your mouth clean, no amount of cutting back on the garlic will help. It is not enough to brush your teeth only in the morning.

Corsodyl Mint MouthwashYour mouth is full of bacteria that cause plaque, gum disease and tooth decay.

When bacteria are mixed with saliva and food trapped between teeth, it produces a bad smell. The bacteria can reside on the tongue, which also affect your bad breath.

Solution? Floss and brush at least twice a day. Use a toothbrush with soft bristles, and take time to clean the teeth and tongue scraping can also help.

You can also rinse with antibacterial mouthwash, but this does not replace brushing teeth, no matter what your friends tell you. Make sure you visit your dentist regularly.

      4. Gum Disease

So now that you are aware of these issues you are brushing twice a day and flossing, avoiding garlic and smoking but you are still suffering! What could it be?

You might have gum disease or dental decay and you should make an appointment to see your dentist immediately.

      5. Medical Problems

Although this is rare, really bad breath could indicate a medical condition.

For example, your mouth could not produce enough saliva, or you could have an infection in the lungs, throat or nose. Bad breath also may indicate that you have diabetes, liver or kidney problems, or that you suffer from heartburn.

If you have been cleaning your mouth thouroughly and bad breath persists, you should immediately consult your doctor.

Recent studies have confirmed that poor oral hygiene, can increase the risk of heart attack.

Poor hygiene can lead to bleeding gums, which provide the bacteria with a route into the bloodstream, where they can initiate blood clots leading to heart disease.

What is in zytex to control bad breath?
What is the active ingredient and how does it work to effectively control bad breath? Is there a better over the counter agent?

    Thank you.

    • ANSWER:
The BEST thing to control bad breath is to take a plastic spoon and scarpe off your tongue several times a day, bad breath (Unless is an internal problem) occurs because bacteria multiplies in your mouth (specially tongue) and it smells bad so if you scrape it off instead of moving it around with toothbrush it solves the problem!

  46. QUESTION:
Why do I get bad breath from a sore throat?
I have a little bit of a "stratchy" throat right now, and everytime that happens my breath smells. I tried eating yogurt to get rid of the bacteria...I'm just wondering why that happens and how I can get rid of my bad breath?

    • ANSWER:
The answer to both the scratchy throat and the bad breath could be that your mouth and throat are dry. Saliva has antimicrobial properties, and in the absence of it bacteria can grow in there. I would suggest chewing gum or sucking on candy and drinking lots of water to get your saliva flowing. And of course brushing, flossing, tongue scraping and using mouth rinse are good for getting rid of bad breath.

How To Avoid Bad Breath Home Remedies

Written By: admin - Oct• 26•12

Bad breath simply comes and goes for some people. Perhaps we only wake up with bad breath in the morning. Or eating certain foods, like onion or pizza. Have you ever wondered why your breath smells as if something is dying inside your mouth? This is because you are suffering from the most common ailment seen in people of all ages, known as bad breath or Halitosis. It is very important to get rid of this condition, as it can adversely affect your likelihood of enjoying a healthy social life. This article provides you with 10 tips to prevent halitosis. Read these tips and put them into work; you should notice a gradual improvement in your breath.

1. Good hygiene helps for sure. If you don't brush and floss two times a day, you should immediately start doing so. In addition, you need to clean your tongue using a brush or tongue scraper. Anaerobic bacteria live on the back of your tongue. A clean pink tongue makes the conditions unattractive for these bacteria.

2. Certain foods that are high in protein like meat, and for those who are lactose intolerant, dairy: If you don't digest dairy products well, the bacteria have more of a chance to digest the proteins in milk and produce the volatile sulfur compounds that result in bad breath.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Dog's tooth is falling out - what can I do?
My (papillon) dog is now 5 years old - turning 6 in June. I just noticed the other day that one of his front tooth is loose. It looks like it might need to come out if not treated. The problem is I do not have the money to take him to the vet and have his tooth extracted. How can I avoid the dentist? Is there any home remedies I can do to possible treat his tooth from corrosion or from getting any worse. I have been reading online that a dog's bad breath can be an early sign of tooth decay - is this correct? What can I do? Should I let the tooth fall out naturally? Please advise me on my options?

    • ANSWER:
Take him to the vet and give him lots of love and care. that would probably be the best thing to do thats what happened to me except it was my cat.
Say happy Birthday from me to ur dog though.

  2. QUESTION:
How should I treat my cat (vets wont help!)?
My cat is 11 years old, and weighs about 12 lbs. For about a week now, she's been very lethargic. she sleeps all day, sits in the same spot for hours. Sometimes moves a little bit, but gets tired and just goes to sleep right there. She is not eating or drinking. I have to force feed her. And the thing that concerns me most is that she is breathing heavily. I can see her stomach go really big, when she tries to breath. Two days ago we brought it to a veterinarian, but her condition gets really worse because she was never brought anywhere that far. When we got there, she started breathing really heavily, and starting crying, because she was scared. It looked like she was about to die right there(thats how bad it was). The vet said that she was in a very bad condition and would not be able to survive for long. The vet said that she may have kidney failure or heart disease. They said they couldn't treat her because they do not have over night services or some crap and told us to go to another hospital that was too far away. So I brought it home and gave her home remedies including turmeric powder, garlic powder, and cranberry podwer(a smashed up cranberry pill). After giving the home remedies, she was able to urinate. There was nothing wrong with it, just that it was dark urine, with lots of odor. It's current diet includes wet cat food (about 2 spoons a day). Other symptoms include inablity to urinate(last urination was wednesday about 2pm), and constipation. Can you guys tell me what I should do besides bringing it to a vet? Is there any herbal medicine I can use to treat her? I don't want to bring her back to a vet because I believe it will get extremely worse, because she gets so scared and starts breathing really heavily. At home she is calm and looks like she is doing OK for now. I need to know what kind of illness she has. What should her diet be like? What should I feed it, and how much I should feed it? Anything I should avoid? Oh, and last question... Does catnip stimulate lethargic cats? Thank you for answering.
how long does it have if it has kidney failure?

    • ANSWER:
garlic powder is poisonous to cats.

cat needs a vet. first vet told you what to do, just not in so many words. the vets suggestion was to put your cat to sleep to end its misery.
i am sorry, but she is suffering.

kidney disease causes the cat to dehydrate, which causes constipation. cat sleeps a lot, moves little, and does not urinate very much.

as the heart fails, oxygen cant be processed and the cat breathes heavier in an attempt to take in more oxygen.

i am sorry, but anything you do at home will only prolong the suffering.

  3. QUESTION:
Periodontal: Where to find best "special scaling" dentist in Alabama for moderate/severe Periodontal disease?
My mom seems to have the periodontal disease and seems to be in the moderate/severe level. She was diagnosed by a dentist and was told that she had to act quickly to keep her teeth. I think this would mean she has about a 4-5mm gap by now. She complains of bad breath, itching, and bleeding during brushing.

I have already told her to brush her teeth, floss, rinse with either sterisol, corsodyl, warm salt water, or pure hydrogen peroxide(H2O2), and not eat anything for 1hr after this treatment round.
(Please let me know if any of the above steps should be avoided or if there are any other effective home remedies)
Also, is an electric toothbrush better at removing plaque than regular brush? I heard the Sonicare Elite is the best line, but I don't know which model.

I did some research and decided she needs the "special scaling", or Periodontal Scaling and I want to find her the best dentist around Birmingham, Alabama. I think she'll be willing to drive about 2hr if she can find an excellent dentist. If you know any great dentists by reference or experience, please let me know.

Also, we do not have dental insurance and won't be covered by any company for the medical fees, so the price has be to manageable. If possible, please let me know about how much the several visits may cost.

If you have any experience or knowledge of this Periodontal disease, please share your experience and any tips.

Thank you in advance because I know this is a lot to read!

  4. QUESTION:
What causes a person to have low magnesium levels(other than diet)?
I am 27 weeks pregnant. A couple of weeks ago, I told my OBGYN about some symptoms/problems that I'd been experiencing (shortness of breath, heart palpitations, rapid heart beat, and cramping). He referred me to a cardiologist. The cardiologist did a blood analysis, and an EKG and ultrasound of my heart then sent me home with a heart monitor (which I wore for 24 hours). I was told that, other than seeing the murmur that I knew about, he didn't see anything alarming.

The next day, I received a phone call that my potassium and magnesium levels were dangerously low. He said that magnesium levels being that low would typically cause symptoms similar to the ones that I am having (irregular heart rates, insomnia, chronic fatigue, shortness of breath, etc.). He also said that it was probably just a dietary issue and prescribed supplements for both (400 mg of magnesium 2x a day and 250 mg of potassium once a day), which I was told to take for two weeks then come in for a follow up.

I had a follow up appointment yesterday. My cardiologist told me that the heart monitor didn't reveal anything that he considered to be life threatening to either the baby or myself. He did see some 'extra beats' and rapid heart rate at times but nothing that he felt required immediate attention. He said that, normally, he would do a chest x-ray but he wanted to avoid it because of the pregnancy. So, he set an appointment for April 15th (a month after my due date) for me to come back and see him. Then, he sent me down to the lab to have some more blood drawn.

Last night around 7pm, I got a call on my cell phone that I didn't recognize. I don't normally answer calls from numbers that I don't know but, when they turned around and immediately called back, I made an exception. It was my cardiologist. He said that the supplements hadn't helped and that my magnesium levels hadn't come up at all (they are still at a dangerously low level even after two weeks of taking 800 mg a day). He said that it is likely that it is not a dietary issue. He is concerned that I have a magnesium deficiency and that I am either unable to absorb it or I'm excreting it. He said that, he felt, this problem has been present for quite some time and is only just now being recognized and that, right now, his main concern is getting me through this pregnancy safely. And that, obviously, now we need to focus on trying to figure out the source of the problem. I'm scheduled to come back in a week from now for more blood work and he raised the dosage to 1200 mg a day.

I've driven myself crazy obsessing over the 'potential causes' of this problem and have found a number of articles about it on the Internet (thanks to google). Of course, the first is dietary but since we've pretty much ruled that out I have to move on to others. Diabetes, Hyperglycemia, Heart and/or kidney disease, toxemia, the list goes on and on. So, as you can imagine, I've worked myself into a frenzy. I also learned, from the internet, that drinking coffee and tea can cause you to excrete magnesium... so I have completely cut my morning coffee out (which was the only remedy I had to the chronic fatigue).

This is my 2nd day off of work (which I cannot afford... especially with Christmas around the corner). The chronic fatigue has been growing worse and, last Monday, I had to take a break (which turned into almost 2 hrs) just to take a nap in the car. One of the side effects of having low magnesium during pregnancy is pre-term labor. Well, ever since Sunday, I've been cramping every day (last night from midnight until early this morning). Any ideas about what could be causing this? Obviously, I am doing everything I can (making apts and keeping them) but if there is anyone out there who has had experience with magnesium deficiencies (during pregnancy or otherwise) I'd like to know what caused it for you and how you remedied it. Thanks.

    • ANSWER:
Your symptoms seem to be very similar to mine. I am 23 weeks pregnant due April 9. I was having headaches, dizziness and tiredness. I also feel that at times my heart is racing. I did the bloodwork and also had the low potassium and magnesium. I went to a nephrologist who said it was Gitelman's Syndrome - some sort of kidney disorder.

I have also been prescribed oral Potassium and Magnesium. I also have had IV infusions. My magnesium level stays around 0.9 and my potassium fluctuates between 2.4-3.0 but seems to always stay around 2.6.

What are your blood levels? Also did u see anyone other than the cardiologist

Id really like to hear back from you because it seems like you are going through the same situation as me and Im really frustrated
Ive had my arms poked so many times that Im bruised all over

How To Avoid Bad Breath During Ramadan

Written By: admin - Oct• 26•12

Bad Boy Seduction is all about conveying a sexually attractive "bad boy edge" whenever you interact with women. Guys who are skilled in the most advanced tactics of Bad Boy Seduction understand that every time we converse with a girl, there is so much going on beneath the surface... signals and messages flying back and forth that we aren't consciously aware of.

Send the WRONG signals, and women are going to be instinctively turned off... no matter how sharp you are dressed, or how clever you are with conversation.

Send the RIGHT signals, and the women are going to feel an undeniable ATTRACTION towards you.

How Do You Prevent Bad Breath

Written By: admin - Oct• 26•12

How Do You Get Rid Of Halitosis

A few months after you start taking birth control you can from never having a zit in your life to a face full of them! When this happens, you can use doctor prescribed medication and all the acne may subsided. However, they might as well still be there because the scars are just as red and noticeable. So the question is how do you get rid of these kinds of acne scars so your face is smooth and beautiful?

As you may already know, there are so many ways though which you can get rid of scars on your face. Acne scars especially are a big burden in many people's lives. You can try using 'bleach cream' prescribed by a dermatologist.

Rosehip oil is incredibly affective at reducing scars. However, if you're prone to acne it can irritate your skin and create another outburst; also if your acne has not 100% cleared up then it can also create another outbreak. Do not use bio oil, it cloges your pores and it's too heavy.

You could be low on an enzyme, so undigested food lays in your stomach rotting. Best to discuss this with your doctor so you can get the help you need.

  9. QUESTION:
How do you get rid of your Dogs bad breath?
my dog has a VERY bad case of halitosis. we have tried baking soda brushes, mint bones (he hates them), and mouth washes... any idea on how to get his breath to quit being so funky? I love the pup, but geesh ever time he gest excited... WHEW would knock a blow fly off a pile of shit..

    • ANSWER:
Bad breath is a symptom of something deeper, not a diagnosis in and of itself. Generally speaking, bad breath is caused either by kidney trouble and/or gingivitis (very common). If you are feeding kibble or canned food, chances are extremely good that your dog's bad breath is coming from your feeding a diet that is high in carbohydrate.

Carbohydrates are not natural to a dog's diet. They stick to the teeth, they cause gingivitis and the result is horrible breath. All the mints in the world are not going to solve your problem.

The first place to start is at your vet's office. It's a prudent move to run a CBC and Chem Panel to check organ function. Assuming everything is okay, then it's time for a dental cleaning. This must be done under anesthesia and it's important to do it this way because it's necessary for your vet to look into every nook and cranny to make positively sure that there are no dental abscesses which too could be causing the foul smell. Your vet Should take x-rays. If your vet does not take x-rays (ask first!) then don't even waste your time - go to another vet. I can't tell you how many times a dog has had a broken tooth that went undiagnosed because a vet didn't take dental x-rays.

Once the mouth has been cleaned and you are sure there are no underlying dental problems, then it's time to change the diet to one that is very low in carbohydrate. Whether you choose to move into raw food or you choose a commercial food, just pick one that is very low in carbohydrate.

Commit yourself to brushing your dog's teeth as much as you reasonably can and then provide your dog with SAFE chew treats on a daily basis. This can be dried tendons (www.k9rawdiet.com), they can be a kong, they can be a raw bone that you purchase from your supermarket. Choose safe chew items to keep those teeth clean!

Dogs should NOT have bad breath. Their breath should not smell whatsoever and if the breath is indeed bad, then something is very wrong.

      Good luck!

HOW DO YOU GET RID OF TONSIL STONES UNDER THE TISSUE?
HOW DO YOU GET RID OF TONSIL STONES UNDER THE TISSUE?

I can see the stone but it looks shiny so I guess there's a layer of clear tissue covering it. The problem is that I think it's causing halitosis and I can feel it when I swallow.

Is there any way I can get rid of the tonsil stone at home?

    Thanks

    • ANSWER:
      Use a q-tip.
And if that's not long enough, get a wooden shish kabob stick and poke it right on the side of it. It should push it out.
After it's out, slightly gag, and more may come out. Poke that out too.
Rinse and gargle with listerine, hydrogen peroxide/water rinse, or salt water. It's disgusting, but that's how to get it out.
You could also try blasting it with a Waterpik if you have one.

Such a disgusting answer to a disgusting problem, right?
      Hey, it happens :)

    • ANSWER:
chronic bad breath is also called "halitosis".

there are several high-quality halitosis treatments within the market. you must recognize that if you just got a little bad breath on occasion like once you smoke or if you wake up in the morning and once you brush your tooth it goes away, so halitosis treatment is just not what you want, you simply need a gum or a mouth rinse.

you want a halitosis treatment in the event you have a chronic bad breath and in that case, there are a number of decent products which will fix your problem.

Wet a Q-tip, open your mouth WIDE, and press the Q-tip around the edges of the stone until it pops out. OR, use the handle of your toothbrush--AFTER you've disinfected it, of course, and do the same pressing maneuver.

If that doesn't work, go to the source below and try another method. They are very common.

How To Avoid Bad Breath

Written By: admin - Oct• 26•12

Dealing with halitosis and its symptoms can be virtually debilitating. Imagine any part of life that doesn't involve coming into contact with other people - your work, your family, even ordering something at the fast food restaurant can't always be done at the drive-through. While some people just don't seem to care about their breath or hygiene, most people are mortified if they consistently deal with bad breath symptoms. Their entire life can be affected.

There are some quick fixes for halitosis and its symptoms, and most don't cost a lot of money or a lot of time either. For example, you may just need to make a few changes to your diet.

Halitosis Fixes- Change Your Diet
Those who drink endless cups of coffee every day can brush and brush but still have the lingering odor on their breath. This might be because the odor permeates their skin and is in their digestive system, something that can't be fixed with a toothbrush.

How To Avoid Bad Breath During Fasting

Written By: admin - Oct• 26•12

When you have bad vaginal odor, you really cannot focus on anything else. Your body is producing this awful scent and it is driving you crazy. You just want this problem to go away so you can finally get some well needed relief. You just want your body to go back to the way it was before so you can return to your normal life and never worry about this odor again.

A lot of women will spend the money and take the time to go to a doctor in order to get a prescription. Although this is a good idea, it can actually be pretty stressful. You know that your only problem is the odor and you just want a solution for that. You don't want to have to go through all sorts of tests with your doctor because they are being extra thorough. You just want your medication so you can go home. You don't want to have to go through all of this extra stress and embarrassment.

  5. QUESTION:
Slow, heavy heart beats during sleep?
Lately, I have been experiencing extremely, slow heart beats when I'm sleeping. When I get up to go use the bathroom or do something else, I realize my heart beats so slow I get out of breath and I can feel it thumping heavily and slowly like it could stop any minute. I've heard of people who die in their sleep for no reasons and I get scared it might happen to me so I'd tell my boyfriend that if one day I don't wake up from my sleep, then it has something to do with my heart. Sometimes when I'm awake and just standing, my heart beats faster or slower at times but it usually lasts less than 5 seconds and then goes away. I worry that I might have some kind of heart illness but when I tell my doctor about it, it seems like it's not such a big deal. They'll try to convince me that it's because I'm stressed but if I were, obviously I would know it. Well if my doctor is telling me that it's nothing, what do I now? I don't even know what causes it and if I don't know how can I avoid it from getting any worse?

Any answers? I'm way too young and I don't want to die yet.

    • ANSWER:
Not too worry. I've had problems EXACTLY like this before. And your doctor is right, it really isn't a big deal.

Stuff like this happened to me because I was eating very poorly (i.e. overeating), not exercising at all, and being very lazy. If some of this describes you, then you need to change just 3 small things and you will not be experiencing these problems anymore.

And you aren't going to die young, but if you don't do something about this now, you are going to feel very crappy and even more lazy, and it will take a lot of time to get back to feeling anywhere close to normal.

This comes from someone who has had first hand experience in this. Because I decided to correct these 2 issues, as a result, I now sleep a lot better, feel a lot better, and look a lot better now.

  9. QUESTION:
    Soccer Training Tips?
When I play in soccer games there's always a few things that go wrong.
    - Out of breath
    -Cramps
    -Countering

Out of Breath--- I"m good at running fast at small to mid-range distances, but after many of these sprints I become breathless, I'm aware that this will happen a lot during soccer. I've been practicing trying to control my over-pumping heart and lungs, and that does help. Does anyone else know how to control and/or lessen this?

Cramps--- This is the worst part of soccer. How do I avoid cramps? Normally they don't start until after I've drank water. But I take small sips and try and be careful with how much I use. I stretch and move around as much as I can but they still remain for a good while. Any advice?

Countering-- Countering is what I call summing up the opponents good points and weak spots. I think about it right before the game starts, but during the game I'm just too worked up and can't concentrate. Does anyone know how I can counter people and concentrate more on doing that?

    • ANSWER:
If your out of breath, you should probably try getting in better shape. A good way to do that is running 2 miles everyday. My team would do that everyday before practice, and it really helped us get in shape and not be out of breath. Also, to help your breathing try inhaling twice through your nose and then exhaling through your mouth. That will help you keep control of things. As for cramps, try drinking more water during the day before you practice or play, and after. Countering is important during a game, but try just focusing on your playing and making sure your doing what your suppose to do. Hope this helps, and good luck!!

  10. QUESTION:
This is really really embarrassing, but any other moms have this condition?
I had my gallbladder removed several years ago. Since then, whenever I have to go...#2 I HAVE TO GO. I get no warning. I've had to pull over on the side of the road one time. It's gotten worse over the years. I had a colonoscopy at the beginning of the year because I'm going... #2 3-5+ times EACH DAY. Everything looked fine. The doctor said I have "stress diarrhea". In the next breath though he said "what mom doesn't have a lot of stress though".

It's just as bad during this pregnancy. I literally have to stop in the middle of the grocery store and practically drag the kids to the bathroom. I have to pull over and go in gas stations or fast food restaurants. If I try to take something like Imodium, it doesn't work.

I try to eat high fiber as much as I can, I avoid stuff I know will work against me. But, it's not enough.

Does anyone else have this problem? What do you do? How do you control this? I have a pill I could take that the doctor prescribed... but I just hate the thought of taking a pill every day for the rest of my life-I'm already taking one for my thyroid...

Any advice? Please tell me I'm not the only one with this problem....
EDIT: I asked the doctor about a fiber pill but he said he didn't see very good results with my condition...
Sunshine: It's the most embarrassing thing I've ever had to deal with. It's hard to hide it from friends and family members. When I do have to leave the room or go to the bathroom when we are out in public they all know what I'm doing and I just die in embarrassment. I'ts humiliating to me.
Gr8t mommy: No, I had not thought about that, that might not be a bad idea! No artificial sweetners here...some fats on occasion. I will try that for a few days and see if that helps! Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
NO fiber pills. They will make it worse! Sounds like you have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). Doctors are a useless lot when it comes to this. I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this. Have you cut out fat as much as possible? I know that without a gallbladder, you probably cannot process fat as easily, and that can lead to diarrhea. Also, artificial sweeteners can aggravate the condition, so stay away form those. Have you tried taking Immodium prophylactically . Like not once you have a bout, but in the morning, first thing, and see if it sustains you through the day?

  11. QUESTION:
Should I get checked for asthma?
Years ago, my doctor told me it was normal for people to stop being able to breathe during exercise. He gave in to my complaints of my loss of breath and said I have exercise induced asthma, and gave me an inhaler. The first time I used it before going out to run cross - country (he told me to use it before exercise) I passed out, and I haven't used it since then.
That was when I was 11 years old.
I am 18 now. I have bee diagnosed with GERD in the past two years, have chronic heartburn, and often get tightness in my chest if I run, or especially if I exercise at an especially fast tempo. This is impossible for me to avoid, because I am a hula hoop dancer. Lately when I exercise I have to clear my throat of mucus and my chest gets tighter than it used to. I checked my symptoms on WebMD and they were consistent with someone who has not kept their asthma under control, or who may be developing it on a chronic level. I've never had an asthma attack, but I remember my sister had one once and had to be taken away in an ambulance because none of us knew how to handle it.
I've always had it happen where when I used to run in sports my throat would close up, but my coaches always told me to run through it, and I would be at the end of my race and it would take me 20 to 30 minutes to catch my breath. The other runners took only 5 to 10 minutes to catch theirs.
I think if I do have asthma, it may be getting worse. My family doctor is not a very good one; when I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia he never told me what I should and should not eat, how to control it with diet, and how to handle it when my sugar drops dangerously low. My family seems to think I'm a hypochondriac, so I'm not sure how to approach them about the possibility that I may be developing chronic asthma.
Should I go to the doctor at all? I mean I've never had an attack, I might never have one. I'm not sure what exactly to do about this, or if I should tell anyone at all. Any advice?

How Do You Know You Have Bad Breath

Written By: admin - Oct• 26•12

If there are stains on your walls or ceilings this could be a sign of toxic mold. If the area is very dark, it could be toxic and should be taken care of immediately. Mold specialists should be able to tell by looking at it or testing, so you may want to call in an expert if you're not sure.

Millions of people have allergies, but if they act up more often in your home than outdoors it's not normal. Mold doesn't give you allergies necessarily, rather causes allergy-like symptoms. Toxic mold will give you more intense symptoms, including headaches along with itchy eyes and sneezing.

If there are colored spots on mold that you've already discovered, it could be toxic. These spots can be brown, green, or even orange in color. Of course some toxic mold is just a dark gray or black, and spreads very fast as well as changes color.

How can you tell if bad breath is coming from the mouth or stomach?
ok i have constant bad breath but i dont know if it's because of my mouth or my stomach. Is there any way to distinguish bad breath from mouth and stomach? oh and please dont say go to dentist/doctor i plan to go to one anyways but before i do i just wanna know where its coming from it would be nice if i didnt have to go to both

    • ANSWER:
It depends on the type of food or drink, if it's something sugary then it's probably letting bacteria grow in your mouth that cause an unpleasant smell, so just brushing, flossing, maybe some mouth wash should work. Other foods, and drinks like: garlic, onions, and beer, are absorbed into the blood and are vaporised in the lungs, and for those there is nothing that can be done other than masking the smell with gum or something.

  5. QUESTION:
How do you tell a co-worker she has bad breath?
I have a co-worker and she always talks to me. Her bad breath is killing me. I let it slide for a couple of weeks, but it’s a constant thing. How do I let her know without hurting her feelings?

    • ANSWER:
During my last year of high school (many long years ago) my classmates and I endured the effects of another student's offensive body odor. But because none of us had the maturity at the time to tell him directly, "our" problem never quite got solved. As the weather began to get warmer, the situation became virtually unbearable. One didn't have to get close to him, one only had to be in the same room. And so finally, another male student decided to "tell" him by placing a bar of soap on his desk and then walking away.

To make a long story short, the fellow *didn't* get the message. He sincerely believed the dude was challenging him to a fight and the bar of soap was some sort of code message.

Anyway, all this to say that being evasive with others is never quite as effective as getting right to the point. As 'painful' as it is sometimes, honesty has a way of getting you what you want. In your case, one of two things will happen. Either she will be grateful to you for the heads-up and do something about the problem or she will resent the intrusiveness and then stay away from you permanently. Either way, problem solved.

So just flat out tell her. Being evasive will be more hurtful to her feelings in the long run than privately sharing your discomfort with her. And if you want to spare her the embarassment make sure you tell her in private, apologize for your own need to tell her, and then offer her a helpful solution if you have one. Just remember that sometimes bad breath is due to stomache disorders rather than poor dental hygiene so her problem may not be easily corrected. In short, approach her like a friend that has only the best of intentions.

Bottom line, if you simply can't do the honesty thing, then offer the mint, cross your fingers and pray for a small miracle. Good luck.

Experience bad breath due to PERIDONTAL disease? How do you get rid of the odor? Any home remedies?
I was diagnosed w/ peridontal disease and I never had bad breath but I was informed by my dentist that I may experience it because it is a symptom and about a year ago I started experiencing PERSISTENT bad breath. I've tried many things to no avail because my bad breath is coming from my gums unlike people that have bad breath just because. Anyone know what I can do to stop bad breath that is caused by PERIODONTAL disease? There may be some sort of home remedy that I can try. Please help....

    • ANSWER:
depending on the severity, you can either have scaling and root planing done by a hygenist, or periodontal surgery done by a periodontist. that would help to clean out the infection causing bad breath and help to save your teeth. if you let this go on to long, u will lose your teeth do to bone loss. the disease affect the bone support for your teeth. if you lose that, there is nothing to hold your teeth. i've seen patients who have never had a cavity loose their teeth do to periodontal disease. bad breath is not your only problem. the surgery may b covered by your health insurance. look into it.

  10. QUESTION:
How do you know if you have BO or bad breath?
No one said I do, but I'm VERY paranoid when it comes to that. I always wonder if I have BO or bad breath. =/
I shower everyday, brushed my teeth, and I always carry gum with me. Is there still something else I should do to be sure though? LOL! I really am paranoid. =/
Is there a shampoo/soap better than others?
Or... What's the best detergent for clothes?
What can someone do to make sure they have good breath at all time?

    THANKS!

    • ANSWER:
There are conditions such as Bromidrosiphobia and Halitophobia which are fears of body odor and breath odor, respectively. They aren't all that uncommon and you seem to have the symptoms. Try your best just to trust those close to you... ask you family up front to be honest with you and if they insist that you and your breath smell fine then try to trust them.

There is also more general phobias such as Osmophobia which is a fear of all odors or Dysmorphophobia which is the fear of real or imaginary body defects. If you find that your paranoia is not restricted to just your odor, you might want to research that last one because that is in fact a more serious condition that can lead to psychological disorders.

I don't mean to alarm you or make you feel like you have a serious condition. These are really just psychological jargon for some very simple and common things.

We asked her best friend to speak to her and she said that she has been saying something too her, but it does'nt help. What should we do?

    • ANSWER:
It would seem u have two alternatives left, either type her a note and leave it on her desk or where she can see it and gently explain that her co- workers find her hygiene objectable and they r concerned that she may have a health issue that is the cause. or go to ur manager as a group and explain to him/her of the problem. If it is some sort of health problem, she needs to have it checked, if it`s simply lack of personal hygiene then a gentle nudge might do the trick. Working in that environment for 8 hrs a day must get very unpleasant and steps need to be taken. But, tact and kindness is utmost.

  18. QUESTION:
how do you get rid of bad breath without mouthwash?
i have realy bad breath! i would use mouth wash but every time i try, i cant. it's too strong. if you know how PLEASE tell me!!!

    • ANSWER:
Dilute your mouthwash with water. Brush your tongue also. Get a special tongue brush from your dentist. This will help to alleviate bad breath tremendously. Eat a handful of parsley, this helps also. Hope this helps you some.

  20. QUESTION:
How do you tell someone that you just started dating that they have bad breath?
I just started dating this guy and he has bad breath i dont know how to tell them. . . . without hurting his feelings. . . . i feel that i should give him gum or a mint but then he will reject it. . . how should i tell him???

    • ANSWER:
if you give him gum and mint, the smell will always wear off. I know this will hurt him, but he has to do something about it, I had a BF that was so sweet + Hot but he sweats alot and he smells like sh!t, so I didnt want to hurt his feelings so I ate alot of mint and put some medicine every half an hour I even tried the noseblock playdough. So If you dont want to hurt his feelings keep him eating fruits it will stay for a while. but if your going to get bonckers out of this problem you should say "try this mint and try that mint" "drink coffe" "Eat fruits" then he will get the point then probally ask you so just tell him the truth in a polite way.

  21. QUESTION:
How do you check if you have bad breath?
I don't have bad breath or anything, im just asking for fun-to know how you people do it xD
The thing that you do when you put your hand to ur mouth, then breathe and smell, doesn't work xD
I would like to use your answers in my life, i'm sure they'll come in handy for EVERYONE really :)
    Happy answering! :P

    • ANSWER:
There are various method of checking bad breath. Hand-cupping method, licking your wrist method, toothpick method (scrap tongue and teeth & then smell it), swabbing cheek (swab by gauge or cotton in the inner aspect of cheek, back of the tongue and smell it), smelling dental floss. All these techniques have their limitations. Best technique is using halimeter. But it's expensive. There are some home testing kits available at low price. This kits identifies sulfur compounds by changing color.

Another thing you can do-- it's little bit embarrassing. You can ask your nearer ones whom you trust, whether you have bad breath or not. But I think it's a confirmatory one. I do it myself to be sure. But before asking someone, I perform other home tests and then ask.

my new puppy has bad breath and i mean really bad and we dont know how to get ride of it. =p

    • ANSWER:
You will be somewhat surprised to learn that the major cause of dog bad breath is the top of the tongue where bacteria grow and produce those bad smells (just like in humans). This bacteria must be cleaned off to get rid of bad breath. Dog chews, bones, etc. will cover up dog bad breath just mints, gum, mouthwash, and toothpaste will cover up human bad breath for a short time, however, these products do not cure bad breath because they do not get rid of the bacteria. There is a tongue cleaner, OraBrush, that will cure human bad breath which can also be used on dogs. I have witnessed a Vet clean a dog's tongue with OraBrush with excellent results.

Bad breath is caused by bacteria "poop" on your tongue. It has nothing to do with your teeth and therefore it doesn't matter how often you bursh them. Use a tongue scraper to remove the bacteria and some mouth wash and you'll be fine. That's what I did and I'm getting along just fine.

  39. QUESTION:
How do you keep from having bad breath ever?
I know brush your teeth, floss and mouthwash but I mean maintaining a fresh smelling mouth all day every day.

    • ANSWER:
Very good question that has an answer. The primary cause of bad breath is not the teeth, but the tongue, where bacteria grow and produce those bad smells. The short term solution is to use mints, gum, mouthwash, etc. to cover up this bad breath. The long term solution is to remove the bacteria, the cause of ther bad breath. So, after you brush your teeth, clean your tongue with a high quality tongue cleaner. I learned about OraBrush tongue cleaner 6 months ago and have been using the same OraBrush I originally got. My breath is always fresh because I brush my teeth and clean my tongue twice a day. My husband tells me he loves to kiss me because I always have fresh breath. OraBrush works for me because I am controlling the cause of bad breath.

  40. QUESTION:
How do you tell your boyfriend he has bad breath?
He brushes his teeth regularly. I don't know if it's the toothpaste he uses or if he needs to start using mouthwash. I haven't thought of a nice way of explaining why I back away when he tries to kiss me.
    Ideas anyone?

    • ANSWER:
It is probable that your boyfriend has a case of Halitosis. Sit down with him and, in a kind and loving way, tell him he has bad breath. Suggest some mouthwash or over-the-counter products for Halitosis. If the problem is still there after a couple of weeks, I would suggest a visit to the doctor. The sooner you tell him the better it is for you. I hope his symptoms get better and for the time being, I would suggest going and buying a nose plug. P.S. ALL guys are oblivious to even the simplest hints. That is why you do not hint around about anything. He will not understand and it will only cause further problems in the relationship!!!

  41. QUESTION:
How do you tell a friend she has bad breath?
She's my best friend and I really don't want to embarrass her, but I think she should know so she can do something about it - someone else might say something in a much more tactless way and I know that would be more embarrassing. So how can I go about telling her?

    • ANSWER:
Start with 'no offence meant but...'

      Then waffle a bit.

Then end with, 'have your ever heard of a toothbrush because your breath comes straight from Satan's bottom'.

You may find this is a bit subtle so you'll have to build up to something more direct but it's a good start.

Good luck with your smelly friend.

  42. QUESTION:
My friend has bad breath, how can I help her?
Ok one of my very close friends has awful breath and it's not normal with her. I know she hasn't been doing anything bad to make her breath this way because she's a complete good girl. I know she knows about it and I feel awful about it because I've seen people notice it. I really want to help her, I think it might be a medical illness, should I suggest for her to go see a docter? I think she may have tonsilitis which would be a simple to fix, but i looked it up in my medical book and she only has a few of the signs + symptomes. If you have any ideas on how I can help her please tell me because I hate having her like this.

    • ANSWER:
tell her to avoid eating things which cause bad breath like onions and garlic. brush day and night, (its also important to brush the tongue) and floss and use mouth wash. if that doesnt work, she should probably see a doctor.

  43. QUESTION:
How can you get rid of bad breath?
I've had halitosis almost my whole life, (im 18) and i've tried everything to fix it. i brush my teeth 2-3 times a day, floss, use mouthwash, chew gum constantly , and nothing works ! I've never even had a cavity so it can't be that i'm not brushing properly.

This is really embarrassing and I don't know what to do about it, if i find a cure i would be so much more confident !

    Help !

    • ANSWER:
Halitosis often comes from the stomach, caused by digestive disorders. I'd invest in a bunch of mints and take myself to the doctor to find out what part of my digestive process needs help. You could be low on an enzyme, so undigested food lays in your stomach rotting. Best to discuss this with your doctor so you can get the help you need.

  44. QUESTION:
How do you let someone close to you know that they have habitually bad breath?

    • ANSWER:
Sounds like your brother has an infection. Bad breath is usually from a decaying tooth that needs to be filled. If he has insurance it would be best to go to dentist ASAP! In the mean time, tell him to brush his tongue, floss, and gargle with mouthwash.

  46. QUESTION:

I've known a guy for ten years and I've hinted around to it but I've finally had enough. What to do, what to say? And how to do it?
Oh let me just say that it's not necessarily a food odor - it is something from deep within! Like he doesn't floss his teeth smell!

    • ANSWER:
      1] prepare ahead of time.
2] tell him when you are alone.
3] bring some sugarless gum with xylitol in it [ works well ].
4] ask casually if he's been to the dentist lately, if he flosses, type of toothpaste, mouthwash, frequency, etc.
5] say, "Guy, your breath has been really bad lately. What are you doing different?" and hand him the gum.

  49. QUESTION:
about to get married and bad breath problem.?
I want to know how people face their spouse in the morning with all that bad breathe and stuff? Particularly on the first day after marriage.
I am about to get married and have bad breath problem. I am worried about how would I face my wife with this problem? Anybody else had similar issues? How did (would) you resolve them?

    • ANSWER:
I would suggest going to the dentist. Perhaps there is something wrong with your gums that could be fixed. Otherwise, have a breath mint on the side table and pop it in your mouth first thing in the morning.

      Good luck!

  50. QUESTION:
how do you treat bad breath?
I have seen a dentist and he tells me that it's not my teeth. I brush, floss and use a tongue scraper regularly (3-4x day) and use mouthwash. I also drink a lot of water. I think it is coming from my sinuses. I spoke with my doctor and she prescribed a nasal spray (forget the name). This didn't seem to work so now I am taking claritin -D in addition to the spray. I still seem to have this problem. This is terribly embarrasing and I don't know what to do. Has any solved this problem?

    • ANSWER:
Try a mixture of half 3% hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and half lightly salted water. You can pick up H2O2 at any chemist (drug store), just be sure to buy the 3% H2O2 mix and nothing stronger.

Gargle the mixture in the morning and evening for 4 minutes each time around. Don’t swallow the concoction, it’s not going to harm you, but it’s not the most pleasant of tastes! The H2O2 acts as an oxidizer, inhibiting the bacteria that cause bad breath. The salt acts as a light disinfectant.

Oh and be sure to brush your tongue first as you always should do anyways!

How to Clear Your Lungs And Stop That Cough Even If You Continue to Smoke

Almost everyone knows by now that smoking is not the healthiest thing to do, but do you know why smoking is bad for the lungs? The answer is actually very simple Each time you take a puff on your smoke, your lungs fill up with toxic chemicals, tar, and nicotine from your cigarette. And this is only one of the reasons why smoking is bad for you.

And regrettably, most of the toxic junk stays in your lungs after you exhale. In fact, more than 60 percent of these toxins stay in your lungs after you exhale. And over time, these toxins build up inside your lungs. And this is the second reason why smoking is bad for the lungs.

Excluding your brain, your lungs are the most delicate organ in your body. If your lungs are healthy, there are thousands of minute air chambers and passage ways. Each time you take a breath, life giving oxygen is pulled into your lungs. After entering the lungs,, oxygen is passed to the red blood that are coursing through your blood stream in exchange for carbon dioxide. When you exhale, this waste carbon dioxide is expelled from your system. This is the process of breathing and it takes place over 17,000 times each day.

How Do You Know If You Have Bad Breath

Written By: admin - Oct• 26•12

Aging can be difficult, and one of the most common and first seen signs of aging is hearing loss. Frequently older adults find themselves in situations where they have to be standing in a certain direction to hear well, or not hearing much of a conversation in a crowded restaurant, or asking someone to repeat themselves multiple times.

These are the first signs of hearing loss, but many senior citizens assume that it is a circumstance, a situation causing the problem rather than actual hearing loss.

So how do you know if you have reached a point where hearing difficulties have become so frequent that you need a hearing aid?

Ask yourself the following questions to determine if you need a hearing device:

1. Do I catch myself asking someone to repeat themselves so often that it's almost a reaction now?
2. Do I turn the volume of the TV up so loud that other people say it's too loud?
